she looks beyond the empty cross.

Was talking to one of the youths from church today.
I've known him since he was a little kid in sunday school; and now he's not so little anymore.
hahaah

A part of me's alarmingly concerned with what he, and youths in general, are mostly facing in secondary school nowadays; and yet another part's beaming with pride at the way he's handling himself. Throughout the conversation I can see glimpses of the values & principles he's been brought up with rooted deep in him. It's both assuring, but there's also that twinge of sympathy; as with that comes the knowledge that the cross he's intent on carrying sure isn't as light as he deem it is.

He's all hopeful, and his maturity reflects the capability that he's all prepared to face his demons.. But you know that you can never fully warn someone enough. It's like you can show pictures and warn all you have to, but the only way to convince someone that fire is yes, hot indeed, is to let him get burned. And you just lessen the pain by having the first aid kit all prepared there; and ensuring it's a minor burn, not an arsonic disaster.

But still the best advice is that God's there for us.
With that promise - there'll ultimately only be goodness.
